Dear Community Partner,
You have heard of Child Abuse Prevention Month but who told you about Family Reunification Month.
You have seen the purple ribbons in October for Overdose Awareness but who reminded you that September is Recovery Month.
You have heard the numbers about children flooding into foster care but you rarely hear about the parents who fought their way back. The ones who found recovery. The ones who rebuilt. The ones who brought their children home and made their houses safe and loving again. Families do recover. Parents do rise. Children do return.
You have heard the tragic stories of domestic violence deaths on the evening news but where is the spotlight for the survivors. The ones who escaped. The ones who stood up. The ones who changed their futures and refused to let violence be the end of their story.
Here is the truth. Recovery is not just a dream. It is a reality. Families are healing. Cycles are breaking. Futures are being rewritten right now.
It is time we stop telling only the story of brokenness and start telling the story of restoration. It is time we speak louder about the victories than the defeats. It is time the community sees not just the pain but the power.
Because when families recover, communities heal. And when communities heal, everything changes.
